Insurance quotation misleading

I'd just like to warn other club members about my first (and last) experience of using Caravan Club insurance for a newly purchased motorhome. Here is the warning: when the web quotation site asks  'be very careful of what you put in here. I have learnt to my cost that this means NCD that must be from a policy that has now ceased or will cease when you start this policy. It cannot include any NCD that you have on any other vehicle that still has a current policy.

I entered 4 years, as I have a 1 yr NCD from a previously owned private car and then a further 3 years no claims on a company car which I am still driving.

I accepted the quote and paid the premium which I thought was reasonable although not the cheapest. A week later I am contacted to be told that my no claims history is not valid because I am still driving the company car and therefore the NCD is not 'available' to be transferred. Consequently my premium will go up by more than £100.

This has made the insurance premium from the Caravan Club extremely uncompetitive and so I have switched insurers. For the priviledge of being mislead by the Caravan Club I have to pay a £25 admin charge and they have retained some premium for the period I have been covered .
