I sometimes think the local attractions mentioned in site reviews are a bit ambitious but this month takes the biscuit. Under the Yellowcraig review it suggests a family trip to Scotland's Secret Bunker - 80 miles or two hours away! Be prepared for wails of "are we there yet"...

Yeah, but it’s not far as the crow flies. šŸ˜„

Swansea is shown as about 30 miles from Cornwall in many guides and searchesšŸ™„

There has, down the years, been some horrendous mistakes with geography, sites and features, and routes in the magazine, this is just another one.

It's often been posted that those who write these articles for the magazine just write them from their desks and don't actually do more than look at google maps and/or the local tourist advice.

There's no way the author looked at a map. smile

Anyway, I shouldn't mock; when we were in Australia some years ago we went on a coach trip from Melbourne to the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road - a round trip of 300 miles.

My theory is that these are deliberate mistakes to see if anyone actually reads the articles....wink

That’s a night out in AustraliašŸ¤£. They are renown for doing long distance drives.

It took us nearly an hour and a half in September 2021 to drive from Yellowcraig to the car park below the Forth Bridge Queensferry!

As far as I'm concerned they can keep it a secret.

Much like the USA Ttda, distances are in hours not miles. During our RV tour in October we would easily drive 10 0r 12 hours to the next stop.

Ah, you doubtless met the Edinburgh City By-Pass, Scotland's largest car park. It really puts me off caravanning in East Lothian/Northumberland if I know I'm going to be attacking it in the hours of daylight.
