CAMC Insurance NCB warning

Just bit of a warning really... not meaning to upset anyone or provoke a massive conversation.

Having just sold my caravan to buy a motorhome after 12 years insuring it with the club and with no claims either I might add..  I have been advised that my 12yrs NCB cannot be transferred  over to my motorhome insurance which I feel extremely disappointed about and if I'm honest almost cheated...  So I have to start all over again..    Doesn't seem fair to me but there you go

Like I say , just thought it worth mentioning , in-case anybody else is thinking of doing similar..

I'm not saying that....Just doesn't seem fair to be honest as was just warning anyone else thinking of changing...

So you were hoping to transfer NCD from a caravan policy to a MH.

I'm not surprised that didn’t happen. Your caravan was not a motor vehicle and, essentially the caravan cover was for fire and theft as road going liability was covered by your motor insurer who gave you NCD based on road usage.

Also CAMC now provide 'cover' rather than insurance for caravans so you would not have had an insurance policy as such. There are technical differences which those who know more than I do can explain but it is another reason NCD is not transferable.

It’s fairly obvious that you can’t transfer NCD from a non motor vehicle policy to a vehicle policy , but when we changed to a M/H and insured through the club they gave me an introductory 25% discount ,as we had had our caravan insured with them , but that was 5 years ago
