Front Covers - Advice based on experience please!

I recently raised the issue of mud on roads .... and Merve kindly suggested a front cover. (Thanks Merve!)

I checked out places like Amazon and Specialised Covers and am now somewhat confused. For a start the price range is enormous, from around £80 to around £350.00, so some guidance would be useful.

Firsty my van has an awning rail both sides which I believe is a good start and I don't mind paying good money for a really good product, but how do you choose? I have no issues with loss of through vision.

What to look for?

What to avoid?

Are all caravans the same width?

What's the best material?

Can they ever scratch the windows or gelcoat?

What about covering up side lights?

Can you still access grab handles?

I am also concerned about adding weight, as my payload is fairly small on a two berth.

Are they heavy?

Do they add a lot of noseweight?

Do they get much heavier when wet?

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

Peter C.
