Re-purpose old awning

I've had to replace my porch awning even though it's not very old.  It wasn't an expensive one but it's torn around the points where the guy ropes attach.  The supplier is no longer trading but the manufacturer was very helpful in giving me a hefty discount on the new one.  I don't want to send the old one to landfill so I wondered if anyone had any ideas for using bits of it for anything OR is there somewhere I can send it for a charity to use in some way?. Thanks .

I can’t realistically imagine a charity wanting a damaged awning. I may be wrong and with respect, they are generally not into caravanning and not into having the resources to repair other peoples cast offs. If you can’t find a way to get it repaired why should a charity spend money on the repairs? However you could always get it repaired, sell it on eBay and donate the proceedings to a charity of your choice.

I suggest free cycle, local area fb, ebay and anything else you know of locally.

A description will suffice. It's amazing what folks can make use of.

There are some very creative recyclers out there each doing their bit to break the mould of that wasteful disposal of used/slightly damaged items. Those contacts mentioned above are worth a shot.
