Ducato Oil Level Sensor

Anybody here experienced the generic fault warning light? It’s the amber triangle enclosing an exclamation mark. Mine's been lighting up intermittently so took into Fiat Professional dealer today. Turns out it’s a faulty oil level sensor, a relatively cheap part, but 6 or 7 labour hours to fit!

My Fiat 150 Multijet is less than 5 months out of its 2 year warranty, so now gearing up for a fight with Fiat as research indicates this is a common problem and lockdown has obviously reduced the time available for the fault to emerge and be diagnosed. The Fiat dealer is assisting me in making representations to Fiat - fingers crossed.

I wish auto gearboxes were still fitted with them instead of this silly idea of sealed for life ....

Yes, definition of ‘life’ is always an interesting point in such scenarios and would you want to continue using a dealer network that overcharges and provides poor service just in case your ‘lifetime’ guarantee needs to be tested?
