Peugeot Boxer towing eye problem.

A year ago we bought an Elddis Autoquest 155 motorhome, which is on a Peugeot Boxer base. A few months ago we found ourselves bogged down in a grass CL. A 4x4 owner offered to tow us out. When I went to attach the towing eye, I realised it is too short and very difficult to attach to the chassis through the small hatch in the bumper. In fact is is neigh on impossible to screw in and even harder to attach a tow rope. I have tried with both Elddis and Peugeot to obtain a longer more usable towing eye, but both companies refuse to take any responsibility blaming each other. Peugeot claim it is because of the modification to the bumper when the vehicle is converted to a motorhome which they have no control of and Elddis claim it is Peugeots problem. Even my retailer has been fobbed off by both companies. I am at my wits end to find a simple solution to this. I have lost count as to how many emails, phone calls and visits to show rooms I have had to do. Anyone found a problem to this? It feels pathetic that neither company can come up with a solution to this problem. Very disappointed with both Peugeot and Elddis. Will not be recommending or buying from either company in the future.
