Hi All

We’ve sold the caravan and are searching for a MH, without much success.

We’re searching for a sub 7m length (the shorter the better) with a rear washroom and garage and a payload of 500kg or more, plus the ability to actually meet axle limits. Payloads seem generally very low. Whilst sub 3500kg would be a preferred bonus, we’re flexible on MTPLM. Suggestions please ?

I would have thought it difficult to achieve a rear washroom and garage, as living accommodation is usually above the garage. In our case fixed beds, with the washroom in the middle of the van.

I, too, agree with Steve. A rear washroom and garage aren’t normally compatible. Think of the weight at the rear and potential for overloading the back axle, especially on a 3500kg van🙁.

Payloads are often low because of large washrooms and other fitted paraphernalia. There’s no point in having a garage without the appropriate payload capacity.

Be wary of trying to replicate a caravan layout in a MH as it usually ends in tears. Identify areas you can compromise on and for many of us that means settling for a small washroom.

What looks like a garage is just a cupboard with shelves...nice van though. smile

The alternatives for good storage are long wheel base panel van conversions with rear doors and folding beds etc.

In this Autotrader list, look for P626D or P696D (p is for pacific and means normal Ducato coachbuilt cab in Pilote speak). They are two versions of the layout you seek. The 696 is longer.

then there is the A class version G690D (g is for galaxy and means A class cab in Pilote speak).
