Whale Watermaster pump

Hi all,

Has anyone out there had trouble with the filter fitted to the whale pump? I had a problem with losing pressure in the system and finally traced the fault to the rubber "O" ring in the filter.

On trying to source one I have been told by Whale that it is not a standard replacement part and that a new filter will have to be bought or I could try a plumber's merchant to see if they would have an "O" ring.

Has anyone had the same problem?  When you consider the price of a new filter, the cheapest I've seen is £15, compared to a new "O" ring which I wouldn't think would be anywhere near that it seems very short sighted for it not to be on the replacement parts list.

If you have had the same problem and were able to source a new ring I would very much like to hear from you.

Thanks for the reply KjellNN and the suggestion but without knowing the diameters of the rings I think it would be a bit hit and miss.  I’m not sure if the filter assembly is part of the pump.  I have my suspicions that it is a separate entity.
