Looking at changing our awning. Ideally a porch size awning (or slightly bigger upto 260 size).

Looking for something that is

  • Easy to put up,
  • good sturdy
  • weatherproof
  • looks the part.

Currently have air awning, but not ruling pole awnings out if they fit the above criteria.

Appreciate options along with Pros and Cons against my criteria.

Thanks in Advance

Have a look at the Sunncamp Air range - I think they do a 260. We have 2 awnings - a Kampa 390 Grande and a Sunncamp Air 390. The Kampa is great but very heavy to get on the rail, whereas the Sunncamp, being a lightweight fabric is very easy. Also easy to dry if it has to be packed away wet - which is another reason I bought it and we tend to use it in winter. Very pleased with the quality of both and the Sunncamp is very good value.

Have a Dorema Mistral now in its 5th year. Its had a hard life in the north in some pretty bad storms and still watertight. The corners were the storm straps go have pulled very slightly but apart from that it is still watertight, sturdy and tough as hell. Its also pretty easy to put up, it is a cantilever type and I can erect in 20 min from start to finish.

I fancy one of those new inflatable ones but cant find anything that think matches my current one for a reasonable price.

+1 for the suncamp swift 260 - even single handed it's up in <10 minutes, very light, sturdy and watertight and dries very quickly if it gets wet too.  We tend to use ours literally as a porch, for wet clothes after walking, boots/shoes etc and a cool box, but in nice weather the front rolls up or if you have two extra poles you can have it as a canopy and it's big enough for our two comfy chairs and little table to eat/sit out in/under.

Can anybody tell me what Awning would fit a 2004 Elddis Firestorm 300 motorhome, it does not have to be a driveway one as I have one of those, but it doesn't have sufficient windows to let in too much light. I am looking for something of a fair size and quality. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Recently bought a Rally 260,  to make life easier also bought a 12v Rally air pump and Rally  device to pull awning through  van awning rail.  Found it extremely easy to erect. Poles against van side are optional  using Rally Limpets holds the awning snugly against van. An inner  roof lining is an optional extra well worth considering, it stops condensation dripping down your neck !!  At 85 I need any thing that reduces hard work,  which this awning does. Of course, as with all awnings,  you still have to put pegs in, what a pain. 😃

Thanks Everyone.

I thought id try a SunnCamp and tried it out this weekend.

I must say, it was a breeze to put up and take down and fraction of the cost of an air awning.  Looks a good fit on the van aswell.

Thanks to all that offered advice
