My powrtouch mover works OK in reverse and will drive straight back ,  but only the N/R side motor  works when trying to move forward. Any body got any ideas? TIA

As TW said but there could be interference from a local mobile mast, we're affected like that at our storage and have to stand very close to the receiving unit otherwise it keeps cutting out. Also probably won't help but a change of battery in the hand unit is a long shot.

We recently had a new one fitted after our mobile engineer tried fitting new brushes in the motors (he did knock off the £45 of the new mover to cover the cost of those) but looking at the old one the spade connectors look dirty and worse for wear so that could have been the problem dirty contacts  but opted for a new mover. As for RF the masts in picture are pumping out a max of 100,000 kilowatts of RF which has never harmed our movers but you could listen to the football results coming through the local church PA cool

If the issue happens other than at a particular location, then outside RF interference would seem unlikely.

Have you tried to see if this happens when the movers are unloaded, that is the rollers not engaged? If it is okay then it might point to a poor connection, somewhere in the motor drive system that is unable to carry the amps when loaded.

If all is pointing to a fault with either the mover control unit or handset, then I can recommend the services of Richard at A&R Electronics Development Ltd LINK. I have no connection but recently needed help with a misbehaving Powrtouch system, and received unbelievable prompt attention from his company.

Just an update on my mover problem. We were away when the problem occurred so it wasn't until I got home that I could look further into it. It turned out to be a fault on the control unit. I sent it off to A&R Electronics in Cannock for repair. It went off on Friday afternoon and it was back repaired on Tuesday morning for a £100 fixed fee + £10 p&p.  What excellent service, to say I'm impressed would be an understatement.

Glad you got it sorted dennisd.  We had a similsr problem recently.  Rang up Powrtouch who took us through various 'tests' - he came to the conclusion that it was a battery problem.  It ended up to be a loose main battery 'terminal'.  Tightened it up and its been fine since...  👍
