Ramps

I recently tried to level my 'van up with the supplied yellow plastic ramps, you know the type. Only about 4" elevation, which seems to make little difference across the frame of my smallish caravan. Even then, I got the impression that it would sink into the grass under the weight of the unit. What does one do?

I eventually moved along the slope (thank goodness for motor movers) and rotated to face down slope. Finished up with jockey wheel fully extended and the back of the van touching the grass!! It looked a proper dogs dinner, but was level. No chance of using the awning though, the front of the van being three feet off the ground.
