Swift Lifestyle and clueless at caravanning

Help please!  

We bought a caravan in the summer for our family and had a very successful month in France (with some heated discussions about routes and roads), having never been caravanning before we didn't buy an awning or any accessories really.

I would like to buy one now and I want to try to use the caravan over Winter, any ideas for awnings, tips for winter or accessories I might like or need (we went a month without a telly, but we had sun!), would be really greatfully received.

Advice in general really.
