I am trying to find how heavy my 3.9kg cylinder was before being filled. I understand that it is stamped on the metal collar around the tap. However my metal collar is split into four quadrants, two opposite ones are stamped 12    12 a third is stamped 15/ 02. How do I know if it is 12lb 12oz or 15 lb 2 oz? In calculating the weight of gas left it makes a big difference. I would be grateful if somebody could enlighten me??

I have two Calor Lite cylinders and I’m trying to ascertain which one is full. I’ve weighed both as follows:

1. 10.44 kg

2. 7.7 kg

Am I right to assume that No 1 is a full cylinder please?

It's not going to be No.2.

Tare weight of Calories Lite cylinder is 4.52kg + 6.00 kg gas = 10.52 so No.! is virtually full.

Last time I had an empty container I weighed it at 4.15kg. When full it was 10.52kg.

I believe weights vary slightly, so your No1 cylinder sounds full to me.
