What floor do you use?

I am new to caravaning & have a question that you have probably had before. It's to do with hard standing. As a fairly new concept to me (as I came from camping) & as such familiar with breathable ground sheets & grass.

Gravel is deffinatly not comfortale to walk/sit or play on. So we have our non breathable tent groud sheet down & then our awning Bolon carpet & then various picnic covers/tent carpet. This all seems overkill to me, but my young child plays out there, so were a bit stuck. What do you use? Is there a lightweight carpet like the tent one only thicker & full awning size?
