Access to caravan in storage

Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble getting access to THEIR van. My van is stored on a private site but if i ask to get access to the van out of season its a really big deal to the owner. I went a few weeks ago to get the battery and all the bedding / mattress etc out. i didnt think it was a big deal. He said it was a problem because it was boggy and me driving my 4x4 would ruin his grass. he was on the verge of not letting me have access to MY van.

Where do i stand???????????
