Carport security?

I just read a shocking account of a member whose new caravan was stolen from their carport! The lady described a situation that sounds very similar to what we are trying to create:

A car port next to our house, clamps on wheels and all the other locks necessary. Still, her van was stolen in bright daylight!!

There were a few tips on how to ensure your van is safe on the drive. I thought it might be useful to collect more advice on how to avoid something like this to happen, hence I opened this new topic.
