Add 2 stroke oil to your diesel

I honestly thought I knew most there was to know about engines and most especially diesel engines and then only a couple or so days ago I read about adding (non synthetic) 2 stroke oil to the diesel tank to get smoother running and better economy etc.

So I checked it out and it would appear that it is a very good thing to do, most especially with the latest low sulphur an bio fuels on sale these days.

Because of this I put in a calculated 200 ; 1 mix into my Peugeot 2.0 HDi tank and was absolutely amazed by the almost immediate reduction in engine noise (most especially on start up) and throttle response.  I have now done exactly the same with my Land Rover Defender and to say I am now driving a different vehicle is a profound understatement.

The other bonus according to other forums I have now seen is that there would appear to be a marked reduction in both soot and smoke.
