I do not want to have any engine nearly in the red band , just to get any decent forward motion when towing thankyou

I have not owned a petrol tow car since the mid 80s and still think diesel the best option for towing especially if frequent long journeys are planned but if you want one I would do it now as the day is coming when they are going to be "taxed off the road" as as already happened in some mainland European countries.

2000rpm? As much as that? 🙄 IIRC 60mph equates to around 1500rpm on mine 😉
