We are thinking of downsizing our caravan to an small 2 berth tourer, with a kerbweight of approx 1000kg.  Has anybody any experience or thoughts of towing with a Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost.   Matching guide on caravan club website says its a match, but just wondered if anyone had towed with this car, or any helpful comments

I am unclear why you need to downsize your car? Remember that depreciation is the single biggest cost of car ownership by far so changing to save money on fuel is pointless. Unless your current tow car REALLY needs changing (it is knackered, done 150,000 miles or more) i would not. Putting that aside if the outfit towing with a Fiesta is legal then it is legal, towing ratios as defined by the club have no legal backing and are simply a recommendation. Nothing intrinsically wrong with small car towing small caravan but if you downsize the car to suit the caravan and the latter doesnt work then you have made an expensive mistake. Save money and keep what you have.

Does a Fiesta have enough power to induce any wheel spin? 😉

You can do it if the handbrake is on wink
