Could anyone give me some information on the towing capabilities of the Ford Kuga Front Wheel drive FHEV ST Line Edition 2.5 litre 187 BHP. I tow a Compass Capiro 574 Single Axle caravan 7.5 metres overall length, weight 1450 kg. I tow at present with a Ford Kuga 2.0 litre diesel 4 Wheel Drive without any problems.

We did consider the FHEV at one stage, on the Ford Kuga owners club forum there are many happy owners, plus practical caravan have some very good towing reviews.

We towed with a 2016 Kuga like yours and looked at the new Kuga as on option to replace it. I can't speak of its towing abilities as we didnt buy one, but when I test drove it I thought it felt very cheap in comparison...lots of scratchy plastic bits. I bought a Kodiaq instead.

We have a Kuga PHEV 2.5 petrol we have had ours just over a year my wife who does the towing loves it, our van is lighter than yours at 1381kg but I was a bit concerned as like yourself  our last Kuga was diesel but last year we went to the New forest centenary site plus Hillhead and it took on Birdlip and telegraph hills with no problems If you are buying new have the factory fitted electric tow hitch
