Depends on the road I would think. If lots of hills & the gearbox wants to hunt between gears, then Sports mode might help .... I used to select Sports in my Omega & Senator before it on occasion, but it wasn't needed all the time. Also Sport might very well prevent your car from selecting a higher gear when it might be able to support it.
Suck it & see 👍

Posted on 21/06/2023 20:06 by TinwheelerHave you tried it to see how it tows in Sport and does your car handbook contain any guidance? Those are usually the best places to start👍🏻

Posted on 23/06/2023 16:51 by andybeThanks for the replies. The handbook is no help at all I’m afraid.
I tried to see what they recommend the tyre pressures should be as well, but nothing. Am going to speak to the local L/Rover specialist.

Posted on 23/06/2023 22:02 by andybeThanks Vulcan for the info on the tyre pressures. It’s a while since I had a LR and my previous towcar had increased tyre pressures for towing. I’ll try normal pressure and see how we get on.
Not ex RAF by any chance?
