today i got my renewal notice,  its gone from £212 to £371, with no claims in the year, been shopping around and a lot are coming in at over £500, if this is caused by uninsured drivers, thieves that steal cars then when they catch them make the fine correspond with the value of the goods,  as those programmes like roadcops they chase them catch them and get off when go to court just read a bout a gang stealing vehicles worth millions and they only got a few months inside without having to payback the value to the insurance companies.   like the 11 year old caught driving a bmw x5 towing a stolen caravan  being out on bail, why wasnt he put in secure accomodation to it goes to court his family will probaly leave before his court case comes up. anyway rant over.

A few weeks ago I experienced a jump in my wife's policy renewal from £140 to £260, so a similar %. GoCompare came up trumps with the added benefit that I only needed to put my details in once to access many companies. Most but not all companies subscribe to the GoCompare, Direct Line being one of them.

i have just spent a number of hours checking all the sites out, i looked at churchill and with compare the meerkats it was £303 and direct with churchill £512,  and a lot was higher,   i had a no blame claim due to hit and run two years ago so thats why mines hiked up,  i phoned my company i'm insured with and spoke to operator and got the renewal reduced by £40 so i have renewed it. they said most polices have increased 60 % this year.

My policy renewal went up by 72%. No particular reason for it.

Placed through AA via GoCompare 2023 with a company that showed 5* defaqto rating. That same company, through GoCompare wanted a premium that was just 20% dearer than last year. Same policy cover. Madness.

AA weren't interested. I didn't like the attitude of either the insurer or AA so reinsured through LV=. at roughly the same 20% hike.
