I am not sure of the relevance of towing with a previous generation Diesel CRV to a new model petrol hybrid. Personally i wouldnt touch a petrol anything for towing. Whatever Honda and their sales people claim a 1.5 petrol hybrid simply cannot be upto towing what is effectively a big box weighing in the region of 1.5tonnes

My 3.0 litre petrol Vauxhalls used to tow very well ..... just a bit on the thirsty side though 😄

I’ve had a 2.2 CRV which was a really good now got a 1.6 TDA which tows our coachman 1545kilos with ease, both are manuals.  I’m guessing your taking about the new 1.5’s which I have no knowledge of.  For sure the CRV is bigger than the Sprortage and I believe has a lot more boot space.  Nose weight for the CRV is 100kg
