Towing for the first time

Hi, please be gentle as this is my first post and first time ever towing.

I have the following car

Skoda Octavia estate 2.0 Automatic with DSG box (2005).

My new van (to be picked up on 1^st august 2012) is a Bailey Ranger 550/6 2007 model.

We have purchased this van from Chichester Caravans in Hampshire and at first everything seemed fine, owner went through car details and worked out if car could tow and all looked good. Since then I have looked at Dr Google for advice and have scared myself witless.

I have read all the 85% and 5%-7% nose weight and most websites are different, the only website that has caused me major concern is the matching site on the CC website which was all no do not do it.

 My car according to the V5 can tow 1400kg with a maximum nose weight of 75kg.

My Vans MTPLM is just under 1300kg taking my towing ratio over 85% (more to about 93%)

 My hope is that kind members on here can allay my fears and give advice as well as hopefully hearing from fellow Octavia owners towing similar units with the same car.
