Trailer tent fixed groundsheets

We have a Trigano trailer tent which has a fixed ground sheet. This is fine for a few days when pitched on grass but after that it will quickly ruin the pitch due to it being non breathable and we are not willing to do this.

Has anybody any solutions to this other than lifting it every couple of days or using hard standing pitches as we have done so far?

Has anybody left the groundsheet off and pegged the awning out successfully without it?
