just want to share my experience of safefill gas bottle, l have been looking at them for a long time now and have always put off by the price tag at £150.00. I managed to find one for sale on gumtree for £45.00 for the 7.5kg bottle which was only 6 months old so bargin. My local service station was fine with me filling it up, it had some in so l topped it up which cost me about £4.00. Our first trip was 2 weeks in France, we had 2 weeks of using the cadac via bbq point oven and hob etc and we had 2 nights running the fridge on gas. When we returned home l popped to the local service station to top the bottle up to see how much we had used. I was shocked when it only took £2.37 to fill it back up again. I only carry this one bottle in my gas locker now and it fits a treat. The saving to be had with this bottle is great. Check them out for yourself.

HELP!   We purchased a Safe Fill and cant find anywhere in the Derby area where we are allowed to fill it.  The 2 Morrisons nearby don't stock lpg and the Shell garages are a definite NO!  We're off to France tomorrow.  Currently without gas.  Does anyone know any stockists near Derby or on route to Folkestone?

The issue I found is not identifying outlets that sell LPG, it is far more finding ones that "permit" the refilling of portable cylinders.

Probably a bit late now but Safefill do a list of filling points that you can download onto google maps.  Not saying 100% accurate but has phone numbers to check.   Derby seems to be a bit of a lpg desert tbh.

mylpg.com has a 'verified' attribute against its LPG site listings, members add the date/time they last successfully filled, providing real data...

to the OP, if you're still struggling, a simple 'butane' hose (21.8mm LH thread) will fit many French gas bottles and they are cheap at supermarkets...
