I have been a Caravan Club member for over 20 years and have insured my caravan with the club all that time.

My renewal arrived last month and when i opened it i almost had a heart attack it had gone up by £116 from the previous year and i was quoted £508 to renew ( HOW MUCH ) after all these years of loyalty they decide i will pay whatever they decide, this is the way all insures treat their customers but i had not expected it from the club.

So i decided to shop around and to my surprise and delight i found a like for like quote with a well known caravan insurer for the sum of £262.00, i checked this quote 3 times to make sure it was absolutely like for like policy.

The main difference i found was that a lot of things included in the caravan club policy that probably 50 percent of their customers never use like cover for overseas can be removed so reducing the price of cover, there were several things like this that i was able to remove to lower my cost it is still covered new for old for 15 years so i am now not paying for cover i will never use,it is interesting that the club do not offer this option.

A few days before my cover expired i received a call form the club and i explained to the young lady my reasons for not renewing and she said perhaps the club could review my cover to make it more affordable and i explained that they had already had the chance to do that when they sent the renewal.
