One of the ways I like to research CLs is to open up a particular CL webpage, have a look, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and find out what other CLs are in the vacinity, say a driving radius of 10 miles.

Just done this for a very nice CL not far from Dumfries. Scroll down, take a look at one Club says is 10 miles away…….hang on a minute😡 That’s as the Crow flies, not the Motorhome meanders. Said Site is the other side of the Solway Firth and actually some 70 miles drive away🤷‍♀️😡

Its obviously beyond the wits of HQ to sort out such blatant misinformation.

Don’t live near an estuary…used to have the same problem with North Somerset to Wales, only 15 miles to Cardiff providing Severn Estuary was parted by Moses! I don’t think any of the online map providers have a fix for that at the moment.

Yes, that was another Club favourite bit of misinformation, closest Club Site to Minehead…………Tredegar Park. Fine for seagulls, bit of a drive for humans round the Severn Estuary.🙄

It doesn’t seem a simple fix to me to automate this. You would have to calculate distance between the selected site and every other listed site in the country to see which ones fall within the required radius.

To be fair, that isn't just an issue with CAMC; I've searched for stopovers between Lancashire and Devon, west of the M5 before Bristol, on UKCampsite.  You get exactly the same there, a long detour for some of the suggested sites!

+1, I usually check any distance on Google Earth to give me a rough idea & I’ve noticed it’s very rare to get an accurate distance from most not just C&MC🤷🏻‍♂️

i agree it much easier to use mapping facilities whether the paper one, the sites  App, the web site or ones you have constucted yourself using the POIs. Mind you the POIs are far from correct and I regularly come across missing CLs. The paper map is soon out of date but the App is pretty accurate though.
