is it just me or is the search for a CL using a map none existent? The CL search just gives you a list of CLs in various areas and if you search for Club sites & tick the CL box on the map search you get the Club sites but sod all CLs

I have never tried the 'Search by map', prefering to go by county.

I have just tried this system and it's right what MM says, there are no cl's on the map.

The page loads with show Club Sites ticked. Untick and then re-tick Show cl's just show club site locations.

Something else that doesn't work

Hi Mollysmummy

There is also Hurries Farm in Skipton as well.

Thanks

Maddie

It'd be rather impractical to email you to ask about CLs in any given area, it' be nice if the website was user friendly or even worked as intended.

Thanks for the heads up, but having looked  at the CL's website I note they charge an extra £2 a night for twin axles ....

I emailed the Club yesterday when I posted this thread ..... amazingly Alastair of the 'Email Support Team' was able to get the CLs 'instantly' when he did the search ...... I'm sure he did sealed

Just tried using the search by map facility, and after a little faffing about I've been able to get a map showing 41 CL and club sites with in 20 mls of Skipton, including 2 CLs at Skipton,1 at Ilkey, 1 at Hellifield and 1 at Long Preston, which are the nearest to the desired destination. There are definitely problems with it, in that one cannot specify requirements, eg EHU, Toilets, dogs allowed etc; and when one selects a site to view one cannot go back directly to the map to look at others but have to go through the whole process again. We tend to list those that are in the area then look them up in the site directory to see what facilities they have. It's quicker that way than to go to each individually on the web site.

Seems OK to me in that I put in a place name and all CLs within 20 miles show on the map. I have previously used the system some 4 or 5 years ago and thought that it worked in a similar way then.

Worked it out now but it is a bit long winded. I expected to see a UK map with dots for cl's.

Then as NTH says you can't go back to the push pin page, you have to start over again.

Instructions for the page would be good but I think I'll just use my proven method

Search by map is my least preferred method. If the scroll for towns only showed towns in the chosen county, that would be a vast improvement, but it doesn't, you have to go through the whole A-Z, trying to remember which town might be closest to area preferred! Bonkers, a real camel committee construction!

If you untick club sites box and tick the cls box you then have to click the search icon which brings up all the cls on the map.  Zoom in to see them 'separate' from the little icons with numbers in.  Click on any cl to view brief details.  Click on the name of the cl to view full details (right click if you want it to open in a new window).  If you want to look at another cl simply click the x in the top right of the box to close it and click on another cl.

I actually think it works fine.  Whether it shows all the cls I've no idea.
