Bardolino - Sites

There is a link to Bardolino already but it is quite old and as we are going to Italy in 10 days - spur of the moment decision - does anyone have any up to date information on the sites in Bardolino.   We usually stay at one a little further south.   Have checked out various reviews and ACSI and whilst we are expecting large and probably still busy sites in September the reviews don't paint a too welcoming picture.   Any thoughts/recommendations would be welcome.    Thanks.

We have always stayed at Bella Italia but did look at Pianni D,Clodia a few years back.

Nice site closer to Bardolino but we preferred BI for its location close, walkable distance, to Peschiera Del Garda.

We stayed in May at Camping Serenella in Bardolino and have also stayed at Camping Continental next door previously. Both sites are on the lakeside  There is a good path to walk the short distance to Bardolino one way and Garda the other.  These sites and others along the same stretch of lakeside are slightly sloping/terraced and most pitches are not large like many pitches in Italy.  We did not book for either stay but the sites were nearly full so were lucky to get in each time.  If we visit again I would book to reserve one of the slightly bigger pitches. There are sites on the other side of Bardolino which I believe have been recommended on here.  We have also stayed at Camping Capuccino in Peshiera del Garda - nice smaller shady site and had planned to stay at Bella Italia this year (it rained so we moved on), both of these are a lakeside walk to Peschiera.

Camping Europa is a short walk into Bardolino along the lakeside promenade. Like a lot of sites in Italy near tourist areas pitches and access roads are tight, but a nice site.

Not sure if you have a particular reason for staying at Bardolino but there are (of course) many, many sites around the southern part of the lake. We stayed several times at Camping Fontanelle, Moniga del Garda, on the other side of the lake and always enjoyed it.

Bardolino and nearby Lazise are both delightful lakeside towns. We've been there for the Bardolino 'Grape and Wine Festival' (Festa dell’Uva e del Vino), and at Lazise for the Honey Festival. Both festivals are at the end of September

We've camped at Serenela twice, but paid extra for an ACSI plus pitch. ( nb No dogs allowed). There's a campsite right in the centre but it's cramped and always busy.

p.s It's at Lazise that there is a campsite in the centre, off the promenade. Just beyond the tower in this photo.

The tower mentioned is a restaurant called La Classique and is well worth a visit.

Found it many years ago and almost walked by as a looked a bit too expensive for us but turned out it is almost same as the others around it but definitely a notch up class wise.

We've also stayed at Camping Spiaggia D'Oro in Lazise -another slightly sloping, quite large but nice site, easy walk to pretty walled town - best coffee ever
