Caravan length

Am I doing this wrong guys?

I have tried to book a French campsite but have been knocked back for the size of my caravan.

The booking form didn't specify whether the caravan length was including or excluding the A frame so I gave the total length of 7.9 metres and they have replied to say that the maximum length they will accept is 6.95 metres.

I have sent another email asking whether the length should include or exclude the A frame but I am not hopeful of getting a reply as they took a fortnight to reply to my original booking request.

So, when I book sites and they aren't specific about the length, should I be quoting the length without the A frame or the length with?  What are your thoughts please?
