I have just discovered that I require low emmision stickers for my coming holiday in Germany and Holland. Can anyone advise me on this and if I need to purchase one where and how do I apply. I dont want to fall foul of foreign authorities by pleading ignorance, I dont think they will fall for it.

thanks in advance

hi Another sunrise, as the original poster of this discussion we also have a lease car .All you need to do is contact your lease provider and ask who is the registered keeper, usually a finance co., then contact them asking for a vehicle on hire certificate to enable you to take the car abroad. They will then send you a copy of the V5 which gives you permission for one year to take the car abroad for a specific no.of days. They may charge for this.Hope this is helpful .

Thank you.  We have had a certificate in the past, but didn't know if this was enough.

I thought it was always a requirement to carry you V5 with you whilst abroad just in case of a police check, copies are not usually accepted. Does other documentation help get round this requirement?

If its rated Euro 4 or higher, yes.

However, there are plans to introduce a blue sticker for Euro 6 vehicles which would be required in some cities starting 2018, (currently Stuttgart and Munich are earmarked), but a final decision has not been reached yet.

Our new VW is Euro 6, if we get a green 4 sticker this year,  presumably we would then need to get a new blue 6 for next year?

Got our sticker last week, asked the sat nav in the car (VW Touareg) to find a VW garage when we were out exploring.

Very helpful salesman organised the sticker, and declined to take any payment!

Just page 2 with all the vehicle details is enough.
