Ouch............not a dog pitch!

Looks beautiful. Intrigued about no dog pitch but you were allowed to stay if you didn't let dog onto one part of the pitch! Don't have a dog but do look after grand dog and take it away with us 😉

It could be because the lake is used for swimming (by humans) and the Germans like to separate dogs from those areas. We have stayed on an Austrian lakeside site near Villach and no dogs were allowed.

Have been touring  in France for a fortnight  - in that time have seen only one dog on sites - is that because we have only seen one Brit family so far? The other European tourists on these sites simply don't seem to bring dogs. Mind you in this heatwave that is sensible. 

We've been away now for 7 weeks and seen many dogs on sites throughout France, mostly Dutch and Brits. The difference here is that the Dutch dogs tend to be little ones that fit into the bike baskets  while the Brit dogs tend to big labs or retrievers so walked rather than carried around. Not had any problems with dogs barking or any of the other complaints that pop up on CT from time to time.

Meant to post what a lovely sensible attitude by the site manager in question.

Reception explained it is a town council rule for hygiene and water quality that dogs are not allowed on the grass sunbathing area and swimming lake, also people from around the area pay for day visits to swim, sunbathing and use the activities. When we see the manager when out walking he always come across to our dog and gives him a stroke. Yes, a site and area to visit again, nice to have a friend who is local, to take us on bike rides and also for me not to drive when wine tasting at a good vineyard and winery. We met this German friend in Holland 9 years ago and they gave me some German red wine to try from this area, now it is nice to see the grapes growing, try it and buy a few bottles.
