Hello all

I am a new member and was wondering if there is any way to filter for adult only sites?  Or if anyone can recommend a adult only site in Cumbria I would appreciate it. Also I can not find any restrictions of how may dogs are allowed on sites.  Only that dogs are allowed on all sites.  I have three and some sites that are not club sites will state that 2 is max.  Would hate to book only to be told that having three might be a problem.

Thanks

Our children's entertainment was with us inside the caravan so a playground was not on our list.

I cant think of anything less like a  childrens holiday, mine would have hated it  and so would wesmile

Inside the caravan was only for very rainy days as we would usually be out somewhere with bat, ball or in rock pools or the sea.

Quite agree AD, if the weather is awful they there may be no alternative otherwise children should be outside burning off their energy. A CC site may not  not the best environment for this.  frown

I would be inclined to agree with the final statement. We did not have a caravan when we holidayed with our kids, but I do not think we would have used CC sites much even if we had a caravan rather than tents.

well there are different parenting ways, ours was to be with our children looking after them while yours was to let them run free. smile

I didn't mean we kept them in the van all the time! We didn't really stay on site during the day we were usually out either climbing mountains, (our youngest did Dale Head when she was four) or visiting local attraction that they liked. Evenings however were usually in and around the caravan together as a family. We didn't need a playground to keep them amused.

Yes and I think it may go somewhere to explaining how my daughter has had the confidence to travel the world usually alone,  cycle from Canada to Mexico, do the Annapurna circuit and cycle through China and Vietnam just to mention a few.

Well done her! I suppose she had to learn to fend for herself. wink

well one daughter got a first and is now buying her own home at the age of 22 . Another is studying abroad in France. My son starting his own training business. Each to their own.

Bit off topic to attack someone's parenting though AD like you did? so I'll say no more to carry this on.

What's all this nonsense about Family focus and Adult focus CC sites. ?.  That's a bit like talking Mug-Wump.

All CC sites are Suitable for Families and Adults. They are after all, only a parking place for the van, to allow those parked there to enjoy their holiday break and see what the surrounding area has to offer in the way of Family or Couples or Singles entertainment and interest.

Good parents spend their holiday time with their child or children,  sharing the experience together.

Totally agree our holidays when the children were young are still the best we have ever had nothing else has ever come remotely close to matching them.I wish i could bring them back.

Well I agree whole heartedly with you K and I'm glad you've been won over to that point of view because surely earlier in the thread you were suggesting that the CC should trial AO at some of its sites. It's one of the strengths of this forum that folk can be persuaded to come round to a new way of thinking. Well done you! Smiley smiley!

As someone who is generally right first time, and am considered " the voice of reason".  I say exactly what I consider is correct. I rarely change my mind and in the case of this thread, I have not..

AO sites are not my choice ,as I like the sites exactly as they are.

 But :-

It's obvious that there are CC customers who would like the CC to provide the option of some AO sites.   Being one who considers the needs of  others, , I don't see any reason why the CC should not, for a limited period on a few sites only-- trial the AO alternative.

That being the only way to ascertain how popular AO sites would be among their customer base. ---- The trial would be cost free apart from a couple of changes to the site description on their website.

Please note :- Opinions on this forum only represent a minuscule proportion of CC customers, so they can be discounted.

Cheers..................K   winksmile
