Amenity blocks closed until 17th May

Anyone realised this. I just don't get it. Why can pubs open their shared toilets for outdoor diners / drinkers,  motorway services shared toilets never been closed, but caravan & camping sites can open 12th April but can't open their amenities until 17th May. And I would bet that most site toilets are far more hygienic and cleaned more often than pubs and motorway services. Bonkers.

Moderator Comment - I think this thread has run its course now. When the off topic posts outnumber the on topic ones it is time to close.

I will be going to that site and I will add more info when I am back. I will also take another shot of the bookings just after the 72 hour deadline. It may well fill up?

It is a popular site, normally difficult to get a booking, look at the bookings in May and June.

You do know the pandemic is still going on and will still be going on then?

Would you expect, in these unprecedented times, sites to be full? There are a number of different reasons, probably all Covid related, why people aren't booking up or going away.

What are you trying to prove with you looking are bookings like this?

If anyone from the club wants to read the BHPA opening conditions for 12th April, go to Section2 Paragraph 56, which clearly states that facilities for washing and toilets can be open subject to the same restrictions we had after lockdown last year

WHY DON'T THE CLUB WANT TO DO THIS FOR ITS MEMBERS

Do you mean extra than the advertised price. Or the ones not using them paying less than the advertised price.

Don't forget my comment was referring to a CL, probably sub £20 not a £30 per night Club site. As a non facility user I would willingly volunteer not to have a bathroom.

I would have no wish to deprive a 5 van site of any income as I hope than the current ones survive. If the CL was lost it would not be replaced whereas if the Club ceased to exist I'm sure many other providers would fill the void.

Thanks but I see no point in reading it. Whether I would subsequently agree with you or not, the club has made its decision and you are not addressing (shouting at?) the decision makers.

Take it up with the club if you feel strongly but you are very unlikely to achieve anything by posting here.

There seems to be a suggestion that the Club have not read the rules. I am sure they have done nothing else since it was announced that campsites could reopen on 12th April. I am also sure that behind the scenes they have asked questions of Government. At the end of the day they have concluded, as has the C&CC and many other independent campsites, that under the rules they can't open facilities. I really do think people have to accept this fact and if they find this unacceptable they really need to stay at home until facilities blocks are allowed to open.

Absolutely true, David! In fact nothing whatsoever has changed regarding facilities on venues providing overnight accommodation since the roadmap was first announced. Nor in my opinion should it, it's about protecting both 'us' and the later road map out!
