I just wanted you to be one of the first to know we are able to offer members a unique opportunity to stay on a pop-up campsite in the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace, situated next to Bladon Chains Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite. Members can book to stay from 11 September and the pop-up will be running up to and including 1 November.

The facilities on the pop-up campsite include:

  • Pitches with Electric Hook Up (EHU) at a maximum of 16 amps.
  • Temporary shower and toilet facilities
  • Fresh water
  • Black, grey and dry waste disposal (up to 200 metres away)

What’s more, members staying on site will get 30% off Blenheim Palace tickets so you’ll have the pleasure of seeing the magnificent Blenheim Palace and the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surrounding grounds which are a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll send the discount code on the booking confirmation.

Ro, why is there a £1 booking fee, instead of saying that the total cost per night was £24:10 per night for pitch and 2 adults? Is this going to be the way that the club's going to go in the future, adding a booking fee to the already high peak season prices, although I guess that they have to recover this year's losses some how?

My reading of the booking fee is £1 per booking not per night. However this does seem expensive at over £23 per night for two adults in low season. Is this pop-up in the fields adjacent to Bladen Chains, from my recollection these are non very level, rough grazing fields.

I am a bit puzzled by this. If its next door to Bladon Chains it seems it's in the field on the other side of the hedge? Perhaps it's a prelude to extending the current site which is long overdue. What would be nice if there was a short cut into the grounds rather than having to walk almost to Woodstock!

Having looked at site map there used to be 1 non electric on grass now see there are 4  in the middle of the two pitching areas all right if the ground is very dry but when wet very soggy as we remembered a few years ago when a outfit tried to drive through instead of following the road and got stuck in the mud, would not like to be under trees either on those pitches.

Would be good if the club are thinking of extending the site like David said and improve the facilities and more hardstandings.

A bit too much road traffic noise for us.

I have been trying to understand why CAMC would want to open a pop up site in even a location as good as Blenheim Palace in September/October on grass with all the trouble and expense of portable facilities when 20 permanent sites are still closed.

I accept many of these are non-facilities but they do have electric, hard roads and hard standing pitches. Why could the staff being used for the pop up site not have been used to open up some of these sites as even non-facility sites are just as booked up this year.

Looking at the list of closed sites and ignoring the racecourse sites which may have other bio security issues there are a number that I would not hesitate to use if made available.
