Have you anything planned for early May 2019? If not why not join CMC members Janet and Geoff as they are running a pop-up caravan / motorhome / tent / horse box site inside the grounds of the wonderful Chatsworth Park, Derbyshire for the three-day International Horse Trials. Open from noon Thursday, before the rush, until noon Monday, after the rush, just sit back and watch the queues and enjoy the events, attractions and shops

Two full three day adult membership tickets, £70 each plus pitch for four days inside the grounds of a wonderful stately home for £190. If you want to watch top quality three day eventing and much more it is a good price. £70 EHU seems pricy but that’s down to having to get a huge generator. Four nights club site, £110 plus two tickets at £70 is £250. Comparable. And many visitors are not members

Sorry but £70 for EHU is way to much!!!

The majority of modern vans, m/homes are equipped with solar panels & can easily go longer than that without going anywhere near the orange umbilical chord.

£190 for 4 nights site fees is again way over the top. You can get 4 nights at a Premier Inn for less!!

As I read GC's post, the £190 includes two £70 passes for the event. Therefore the cost of 4 nights site fees is £50, which seems good value.at a major event.

The EHU is optional.

Some folk seem to expect something for nothing.

Moderator Comment - Perhaps best not to post jokes at all especially when when out of context and it leads to a whole series of off topic posts which means that moderators have to waste their time deleting to maintain the integrity of the original post. The Premier Inn just up the road would be £328 for those dates (£362 if you want flexibility) Plus if couse you still have to drive to the event and pay £140 for passes.

Can we have proof of proper club support and insurance cover etc. Is the power supply safe and what if it causes damaged?

If this is open to all is it a commercial enterprise in which case why is it being advertised here?

Seems commercial:

Caravan and camping tickets are £150 per pitch and include two adult three-day tickets to the event.

Upgrade your tickets to include horse trials membership for two people for only £40 - this is an exclusive discount for caravans and campers only. Membership includes exclusive access to the members' enclosure and all membership amenities listed above for all three days.

Admission to the site is available from noon on Thursday 9 May until noon on Monday 13 May. The site is within the grounds of Chatsworth Estate close to the event providing water, shower and toilet facilities. The site is accessed via the Golden Gates off the A619.

Think of it as a rally. Think of it maybe as one of terms and conditions of Chatsworth leasing land to Club for its site. Think of it as somewhere visitors can use their horse boxes for accommodation, those big posh ones with room for both equines and humans. There are other options to Club Sites.........particularly for special events.
