CL inspections

We booked a CL back in March for a ten day stay. Upon arriving today we were most annoyed to find SIX OTHER UNITS pitched, who clearly were not leaving. We were expected as well, since there was a stake with our name on it where we, THE SEVENTH were expected to set up ! Needless to say, we didn't.

Are there no checks ,especially in ' honey pot' areas like the South West , especially with the boom in 'staycationing'.

The owner was most put out on finding that we wouldn't be stopping, claiming that she could have let the spot many times over.  Not without breaking the rules, she couldn't!

From experience I find any CL that has fishing in river or lake/pond or other on site activity invariably has more than 5 vans. Another feature to watch out for is an immediately adjacent CS or CL. I now avoid any found with these arrangements.

And what happened? Has the offending CL been closed? Or is it still open ?

A bit heavy handed of you if you think it would have been closed after one such event, but of course if it's part of a pattern of repeated breaches that is a different story.

And of course it won't get recognised as a pattern unless people report in such events?

Unless you're suggesting that just because nothing may happen then nothing illegal should be reported?

Considering the OP was this month ,it would be inconceivable for any action as you describe would have been actioned yet?

One just has to see how long it takes for bad farming practises to be closed down

No idea. That's for te appropriate authorities to decide. I have no doubt that they will, based on the reply I received.

The reviews ( which I didn't read until after we left) seemed to indicate that it has been reported before, but I couldn't confirm that.
