Disabled pitches do they really exist?

My husband is disabled, suffers with arthritis. We don't request disabled pitches we take our chance on arrival.  We were dutots stay at Shawsmead CC next week after our stay at  Coed y Llwyn. Here we were pitched at the bottom of a slope were the toilet block was at the top. Frequent trip to the TB and a flare up of this arthritis cause my husband to struggle more than usual. We phoned Shawsmead 4 days prior to arrival to ask if they could reserve a pitch. We were told NO, everyone wanted a gravel pitch ( not necessarily needed) and we should have thought about it when we made our booking. So booking cancelled, now going to a non CC site who were  very helpful and accommodating.Any one else had this problem or were we just unlucky
