Well we are very lucky we have received confirmation that we can stay on site  with others for the forceable future 😓(site now on lockdown)

obviously we are paying our pitch fees , but of course with Easter looming and higher rates for what would be high season (school holidays) plus Easter bank holiday, appear to be cancelled by all and sundry, government/churches , what’s your opinion on the cc charging us full holiday rates , pitch fees ,

do you think they should or not

Comment from the Community Manager:

In line with government guidelines, we have agreed members that are either key workers or, with no fixed abode can remain on site. For the few members that are with us, the Club have now confirmed that pricing will continue at the rates applicable on 22nd March, the date of closure. This will continue for the period we are closed commercially, until 30th June 2020. If you are still on site and have any questions about pricing or booking during this period, please call the site office and they can discuss this with you. We wish all our members, their families and those dear, the very best during the months ahead, keep well and safe. Do keep an eye on our website for further updates.

agree 100 pct, my gripe is, that this group clearly discussed how they could reduce overheads by not paying peak period site fees, they floated the idea that maybe they shouldnt on here, and lots of people fell for it, so now, as i understand from the OP they have full facilities including laundry and who know's just how long they can stay.

OP has stated they are willing to pay, but why pay if you can perhaps dupe the club into not charging peak rates. Not in the spirit of things if you want my opinion

Have you never had a "what if " conversation with your friends on some issue, no one knows the answer ,so you out .Never once intending to go through with it ??.

Disagree entirely with the original OPs post wanting, or even thinking about a reduction in site fees.

Nomadic, travellers, call them what you will. I'm happy, as they should be that they have somewhere in isolation instead of roaming willy-nilly around the country. Both happy for them and for me.👍🏻

Absolutely. If folk have full use of facilities, I see no reason to discount site fees.

oh! of course, but do you think if the club had said you can stay as long as you like on out of season site fees they would have said "oh! no we couldnt possibly do that "

Dear me , it would appear for want of a argument and twisting what’s been posted ,

1, whatever the reason for persons going full time that was not up for discussion,

2, They do not abuse the club rules as or how long they stay on site or how often they move sites , and I might add Paying full pitch fees high or low all year

3, we are on this site because of the lockdown all are exceptionally grateful for this , but apparently there a many in our position all over the u k

4 . we do have full use of all facilities on site , except the NT site next door ( who cares nobody ) and as stated before hard working wardens

5 we are all paying full pitch fees whatever they are

no moaning about that , and not looking for a way out of paying less no discussion took place looking for a way out of paying less

6 we are all locked up the same as you , maybe those who are full timers find it easier than some who use there vans for holidays a couple of weeks at a time

7 The persons on site are not as some maybe insinuating travellers they are full timers , nobody at all in any way shape or form are abusing CAMC

8 Nobody had seen what we have been hit by if this had not happened the full timers would have still been travelling around the uk site to site for 12 mths and I might add paying full site fees high or low and also helping to keep the open all year sites afloat .

Glad they are safe. But still confused to be honest. Clearly if someone is having to drive for twelve hours, sleeping in their car, then Club haven’t waived the 21 day rule. If sanctuary has been granted, then Club needs to to keep them all, permanently on the Site, until things get back to a degree of normality. Advice is to stay very local to your place of residence, be it a permanent residence, or a temporary one.

Sorry but like many conversations out loud, it’s a confusing one, and getting more so by each page.

  1. Well what have we learned
  2.  People living in vans full time have been given living provision.
  3.  The club has provided them with somewhere to stay
  4.  Ruby and OH are ok.. (aka the OP)
  5.  The club is going to make financial losses
  6.  There is a greater risk of passing on the virus in communal facilities.
  7.  Times are difficult for everyone
  8.  Stay safe

I have friends currently in lockdown on a site in Spain who since they let their house in the UK for 6 months would if they returned be technically homeless. They are not spongers trying to save on living costs, they are just folk doing what very many (maybe some here too) would like to do if only they had the courage. Present circumstances are unprecedented, normally if stuck for accommodation eg van out of action renting an alternative cottage or mobile home would be a perfectly feasible plan B but now that would be difficult in the extreme.

Posted on 28/03/2020 10:12

Yup for some there are mitigating circumstances, but i seem to recall that on this very forum people were shouting for the club to close sites probably 2 weeks before it happened. In the meantime these so called "full timers" were toughing it out somewhere when they should have been executing a plan B, e.g. rent a cottage and there were no doubt lots available after people cxld.

👍brue, but we’ed have learned it a lot quicker if the OPs last post had been their first!😁

The persons on site are no different to you all , loved caravanning/ motorhome travelling , when they got to retirement age decided for whatever reason to go full time ( I must add many have said they wished they were in a position to do the same ) I can also confirm that they pay a lot of money for there vans and moving site to site (not parking at the side of the road ) doesn’t come cheap )

so at the end of the day it’s a life choice they have made , us as much as we loved our caravans and motorhome full time is not my choice , we’re in this position through no fault of our own until this terrible

pandemic is over
