Email regarding price increases

My impression is that they have slowly working through the price rises on individual sites throughout the day.

Last week I noted the prices on half a dozen sites that I may have the chance to use this summer. Early this morning, all the sites were showing the same prices, however as the day has progressed I,ve noticed the prices change. First was Cirencester, in the late morning, the last one I noticed change was Cheltenham, in the late afternoon.

I'm guessing all will be eventually changed to their new prices.

I think (unless mistaken) the price increase might only become apparent on arrival. So you book at one price, the Club sends out an email telling folks that they are having to increase prices to cover fuel costs, but aren’t changing the prices on the website🤷‍♀️ You might get to know if you can contact the Site direct, but it’s a lottery as to whether or not anyone is picking up the phone. Happy holidays and that will be £x more to stay, thank you!

From 5 April 2022 you’ll be able to see the exact new price you’ll pay by logging into ‘My profile’ and clicking on the ‘My UK Sites Bookings’ section.

Reading Davetommo's post it would appear that either that is not the case or that on certain sites there is no increase, although I can't believe the latter would be the case knowing the CC!😊

As it is from 5 th April when  you see the exact new price you would expect prices for bookings in April to be the 1st to show the new price. I was thinking they might do alphabetical order. But if that was the case the the site beginning with the B would be one of the 1st. Who knows how these people work.

Just a thought, has the club considered changing all the fuses on the bollards to 10 amps ?  That way, low to moderate users would notice very little difference and pitch fee increases could be maintained at less punitive levels for all members.

Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but I couldn't find any mention of it upthread using google.

Rates seem to have risen sharply and are now not competitive with private sites with same falcilities.

We stayed three times last year on club sites, this year we are staying only on private sites.

Yes, energy prices are rising steeply but site fees seem to be increasing more!! We feel it would be better if the club went back to the old way of charging seperatly for electricity. It only stopped doing this becaiuse of an EU ruling and now we have left it is an option. Some rigs can run without hookup so we should have the option.

Actually it is nothing to do with the EU, it was Tony Blair that put it into operation, to protect tenants.

If you visit a metered site in Germany, you will pay 55-75 euro cents for a kwh.

I think it has been suggested before as has the 6  amp option which many of us are used to in Europe. Whilst it might work for the bulk of the year I think that it could be difficult for some especially in very cold weather when heating is on at full strength which starts to make it a bit borderline with other appliances being used. I think there are probably only two ways forward. one would be to accept the status quo which means that site prices will continue to rise as long as we have an energy crisis or start charging for the use of electricity separately. The latter would mean that individuals would at least have a degree of personal control?

Today I asked the club (via chat) how to cancel the automatic membership renewal as I was thinking about not renewing when its due in May. 

I got the information I required but it surprised me that I was not asked WHY  I was considering not renewing.

Surely this is something that the club needs to know. As a member it really doesn't make you feel valued,  they keep spouting about being valued members, valued my eye. 

Reasons why we might not renew, is it VFM anymore, deposit system doesn't bother me but they have now lost the edge they had against other operators. We are members of both clubs, so we need to be. We hardly ever use club sites these days only CLs.

This latest rise in prices which has not been dealt with very well has just put the icing on the cake. Everyone has to make their own decision but for us I cant see its worth staying members of both clubs.
