Engines running....

Currently at Hebden Bridge on a serviced pitch opposite the motorhome service point and not far from the waiting area for booking in. I have noticed that the majority of motorhome drivers either using the service point or waiting to book in sit with their engines running. Not being a motorhomer I'm not sure why this should be but would argue it demonstrates a lack of environmental awareness and little consideration for those site users that suffer the unnecessary noise pollution. Please consider the environment and other site users and switch your engines off when stationery.

It seems more of a cold weather problem ,with folks leaving engines running

,  On the other hand , it seems as noted here (West side site)When amongst many departures are numerous motor caravans, queueing to use the MC service point could be half hour or more, most are sitting with their engines running(to keep aircon going?) the most we have noticed here after last weekend BH was eight.in the queue,

We noticed today that the waste dump seemed not required, when they left as with the heavy rain ,some thought it quite OK to open their waste tap , as it would be diluted as they left their pitches, and it was not me that noticed but another member  when at the service when rain had stopped

My thoughts too. What could be simpler than a notice requesting "Please turn off your engine when using this service point"?

I suppose that goes against the club's latest thinking in removing signs. Remember "Everyone loves your dog - on a lead"?

Not sure they were removed to save signs ?more the wrong colour with the change to (walls ice cream badge)and colours which had not been "expected?" to be so expensive to implementundecided

Given the height of Motorhome windows, that might challenge even them.

I'm probably guilty of this but not by a conscious effort. I just don't like stop & start the engine frequently ... my STOP/START is turned off each journey, but it takes seconds to hitch up, attach the break-away & plug in.

I find if I don’t turn of the engine when I hook up or unhook certain electrical items don’t work correctly.

I suppose we all have our mental lists of clues for pitches to avoid......πŸ˜‚

We don’t do anything resembling baby or toddler toys, big TVs, (especially in the awning), tethered out madly barking dogs, big barbecues, suspicious amounts of alcohol, and big family/friend groups. All of these are perfectly fine if we are one end of the Site, and they are the other, we are reasonable......πŸ˜‚πŸ€ͺ

I think that is what most people would understand from my postwink

I knew where you were going ... I was reiterating your point and adding sliding doors to it!  πŸ˜‰
