hope this is the right place to post this !!!

how does the LNA work ?? I have never had to think about it as I work till 7pm on Friday night can't go to a site as it will be too late so just go on Sat morns for 1 night ,however next month I have a week off work so on the Monday will be going to Clumber Park but not in the morning as I have a new job that I finish at 3.30 so will be going after I have done that as I've only just started it can't ask for time off yet but my other jobs I'm off ,I plan to get everything ready ,go do this job then come home pick up the dogs and food I need then set off ,as Clumber Park is only 45 mins from me I should be there by 4.30 BUT if there any hold ups on the A1 and I get there later than 5.30 what's the procedure ?????

That's what it was like when we visited last year Bakers, but I think the barrier may be before that now, to keep Travellers out of that little area, and move them further on into Nene Park. Once they get onto property, little anyone including police can do until they do move on, so Club is perhaps wise to try and keep them off Club run premises. Wardens will be best placed to advise, they were superb when Travellers invaded Exeter Racecourse years ago!

Thanks tda at least I was remembering it correctly. Shame the club reply couldn't be as clear 😉!

I know there have been issues with travellers in the area.

One assumes that this is now redundant space? If this was a user friendly caravanning and motorhoming club with such a facility you'd think they could have worked out how it could continue to be used for the benefit of members and bring in fees 😉. Our son lives 20 minutes or so away so now we will have to ensure we book in before visiting him, as we have previously, but it was always an option to use LNA. Thank goodness for CT keeping me up to speed 😊.

Hi Bakers2

When you phone up to let the warden know you will be late they will inform you at this stage of any codes you may need for the facilities.

Ferry Meadows is a site that doesn't have the late night facilities, I am not aware of any site that has a barrier system before you get on the site that has this facility however if there is you will also be given access to this by the warden when you call them.

Hope this helps

Dean

So since the new add barrier has been installed the three late night arrival are now no longer available ,there is nothing in the magazine to this effect as a user of this site it is quite often used

I know you are also a frequent user of this site but I take it you weren't aware of the change?

I know someone will say the website or directory has been updated but as a site we use several times a year, I have the number in my phone and would book either online or by phone, but NOT read the description or ask the question so could very easily get caught out.

Probably not broadcast too loudly as traveller problems are not the imagine the club wishes to promote 😉

Have been twice this year once when they were installed, and knowing how often the LNA is in use thought we might get as reply from the staff member ?😅😉

Normally if there is not LNA it advises of this on the site details

I am not certain where the barrier is, although I think I recall reading a post about it being before the LNA area. But being wise and well prepared, we will just phone the Wardens prior to our next visit. smile

Just checked on the site plan it shows LNA and arrivals were up to 20.00hrs, therefore if you are there about 5.30pm you should be OK

It does state in the site overview, on the FM booking page.

Please note that due to redevelopment there is no longer a Late Night Arrivals area on this site.

However, you have to expand this section to read it, and it is not highlighted in any way. ( see screen shot)

Hopefully it is highlighted on the booking confirmation. Clearly in a case like this where something is no longer available, more effort should be made to bring it to the attention of those booking. Particularly for repeat visitors who may not bother to check site overview.

Thanks for looking SteveL. I kept meaning to but others things got in the way and then forgot! Might have done so when we book 😉.

I agree more prominence should have been given - but then site arrival times haven't been and email booking confirmation gives it incorrectly. 😲
