Racecourse Campsites

We particularly like the sites on race courses - they have an atmosphere we enjoy, even without the horses, and even more so when race day is on.  My wife is an experienced horse-rider and we would say we 'understand' horses, therefore fully appreciate that there have to be certain 'rules' for campers on Race Day.

Our local site is Great Yarmouth and we know the layout well - access to the site is across the race-track and through the horse unloading area.  Therefore it seems reasonable to restrict access to and from the site a reasonable time leading up to and obviously during the racing.  However, we struggle to understand why there is a blanket ban on any arrivals/departures on race day at this site and would love to hear an official explanation to why this inflexible ban is in place, and if current occupants of the site on race day are similarly restricted from any movement on/off the site.

What is particulalry difficult to understand is to why this movement ban is in place for evening meetings i.e. when first race is at approx 5.00 pm.  Surely, a common-sense approach can be taken for campers who can arrive between say 12.00 - 14.00 on the day, thus being in place over 3 hours before the racing starts?

Please can this silly policy be reviewed and allow the users of these lovely campsite to use them to their best advantage - to actually enjoy the races.

I would love to hear an offical response from The Caravan Club on this matter.
