Rules for leaving a caravan unattended

From memory, I think you need to inform the Wardens and switch off your gas and electric. A call to the site wardens should settle your query, if it's not in the rulebook somewhere?

I presume you just mean part of It? As the poor driver isn’t going to see much if you do it all at that speed.

I would assume it’s the same as if you have a seasonal. Inform warden, disconnect  from EHU, gas off and no awnings left up. Not sure if you can just pay the minimum pitch + 1.

It is/was max 48hrs unattended on this clubs site but site staff to be advised, and you should only pay for the pitch and one person

It is in the site rules and I think it's 48hr max. You must inform the warden and your site fees will be adjusted.

It's your choice, BigS, but why not do the route with your caravan as most of it is towable. You should expect to meet the world and his wife doing the NC500 this year though.

The rulz say ...

e. Site Staff must be informed if you intend to leave your outfit unoccupied overnight unless you are using a designated seasonal pitch. Normal booking rates will apply to the unoccupied period.

When we had to leave the caravan overnight we were asked to unplug from the bollard, but there's no mention of it in the rule book. And we paid full whack too

Due to a site not allowing me to leave the caravan for 48 hours, I queried this with head office. They told me that, regardless of what the 'rules' said, it was up to the wardens to decide and that they would not overrule the warden's decision. 

So much for the rule book!

Simon, Circumstances alter cases, I am afraid.  Only the on-site staff can be aware of conditions at any given time.  As  SteveL says, Scotland is a beautiful country that deserves better than a cursory peep sideways before you come to the next Hazard --  give the driver a chance to enjoy those views  

You might also want to check that your caravan insurance remains valid if unoccupied whilst sited

 I wonder how many actually bother doing that. Very few I would guess.
