Okay, here is our 3rd post, hopefully this will have more luck.  Our others from 18th & 22nd August are still sitting as pending despite a telephone call, that suggested I wait a bit longer, and an email as also suggested which hasn't been answered.  I appreciate Covid-19 restrictions but other posts seem to have been approved/progressed.

Having picked up our new Swift Eccles 560 last Saturday and being newbies we are heading to North Ledaig for our first adventure this week and then Whitley Bay and Windermere in October.  We are now looking at a major trip for next year in late May/June and heading to Devon & Cornwall from Lanarkshire.

We are looking for any guidance or advice as to possible sites, I have pencilled in some possible sites but was hopefully looking to see if anyone had any comments as to their suitability or for other options.  It will just be the two of us and our two Cocker Spaniels.

My plan so far is Home to Kendal, then Tewksbury Abbey. then Moor View AO, then Bishops Lydeard (to visit a friend), then Clover Fields (Buxton), Firtree AO (Harrogate) and finally The Crown at Mickleton before home.  We are heading off on 30th May and home on 18th June.

Any comments as to whether I have chosen well or if there is a better option to any of the above I would be very grateful for your experience and advice.

Bill and Theresa:  Should you decide to go to Cornwall, it's worth looking at Globe Vale, just outside Redruth.  It's not a Club site, but one we have used for years.  It's centrally located, so easy to get to anywhere in Cornwall, and the site is really well looked after by Paul, Louise and family.  You can book hardstanding or grass, or full serviced pitches.

There is an affiliated site (Carnon Downs) and Club sites at Gwithian and St Agnes (but you can't book specifically a hardstanding or grass pitch).  Access for St Agnes is not the easiest

For anyone who doesn't want to push on down into Cornwall I suggest a look at Tavistock in west Devon on the edge of Dartmoor.

There are four good quality independent sites close to the town- Harford Bridge, Langstone Manor, The Old Rectory and Woodovis. All are good, but all are different, so read the reviews and descriptions before choosing, especially if one needs public transport. The Camping Club has a site close by too and there is one CL - so there's a total of over 250 piitches on those different sites spread around the edges of the town.

The imponderable of course is the possibility of cancellations and lost deposits if there are still Coronavirus restrictions in place. Travel insurance might be wise.
