UK sites with metered electricity

Can people please post some examples of UK sites where electricity.usage is metered.

The one I know of is Pier Collage on the waterside at Coniston - a family owned site with 15 pitches . The system there is to pay on departure for the amount of electricity used, but other sites sell pre paid cards on arrival, so comments on the different ways of working may be helpful.

Likes and dislikes will inevitably crop up - they always do on here - but I was rather looking for practical ways of working.

If you don't need all the club offers then why do you keep using them so much and why be so focused with getting meters installed on club sites? I recall a previous post where you said that number of club sites for you was quite high? Why not use those simpler sites and where meters are more common?

Why are you so obsessed with my site usage Corners? Not for the first time either, it adds nothing to the discussion.

I'm not and other have posted on it as well. I would say it does add.

The thing you're posting daily on having meters on club sites but say you now don't need clubs sites, it just doesn't add up PD? If you used club sites a lot then it would make sense?

At Standcliffe House CL we paid money into a meter and used up any spare left by the previous occupants. All ok.

At Cholsey Grange CL we had an allowance included in the site fee and any excess was payable after the final meter reading. All ok.

In both cases we were more careful with the usage, it stops wastage.

Do chosley grange or other the other cl have auto reading of the meter or are they manualy read by the owner? do you know if the rates for ehu also included the calibration  and other costs or just the electricity as the owners paid ?

The pay as you go meter is just that and I expect they are inspected. C Grange read the meters when we stayed but I don't know if this has changed since their upgrade. Details will be on the CL site pages. If you were running a CL JVB you would no doubt factor all extra costs into the nightly charge otherwise you would make a loss.

Next year, when utility contracts get renewed we will no doubt see price rises on CAMC sites due to the very big rise in supply costs. Every user contributes to rising costs. We are on a dual fuel contract at home, we will see big rises when this comes to an end.

Id like to think our members are better than that👍🏻

Looking at the condition that some "members" leave the toilet blocks in I wouldn't put it past some taking full advantage of "free" electricity to charge their vehicles, I'm sorry to say.

That sounds like an argument for provision of more non facility sites, Nellie😁

In all my many years of using many club sites, almost exclusively, I've never come across this problem, how many club sites have you found this on?

Also I'm not sure there is a direct correlation between this problem and trying to charge an EV without paying? smile
