I have deliberately waited for the Children in Need main event to pass by, before raising this, but am I the only person who thinks that Children in Need is now going a bit OTT?
When it started it was just one night a year and it was fun, but now it really kicks off weeks and weeks before the main night, and a long time afterwards too.
Nowadays my radio which used to be tuned to Radio 2 most of the time, now gets re tuned to Classic FM about 3 weeks prior to the main event. Yesterday morning I tried tuning back to Radio 2 but it was still in full Children in need mode, so back to classic FM.
I am also concerned about the physological pressure on listeners to donate more and more, often I am sure in many donating more than they reasonably should, or can afford.
Ive no strong views on this but wonder what people think, Is it now going too far?
