I see Wales has secured a World Heritage Site for the Slate Landscape near Llanberis. A few year ago we went to the Slate Museum, free as well, which was very interesting. For a relatively small place Llanberis has a lot to offer, most of it within walking distance of the Morris Leisure campsite. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-wales-58007018

Pleased this has come to fruition, covers lots of different areas in North Wales. I can just remember the slate producing areas working, as we spent a lot of time with relatives in area. It’s a huge shock still seeing the quarried landscapes, even if it has mellowed down the years. Includes lots of the infrastructure like Talyllyn Railway as well.
There’s the mining World Heritage Sites in Cornwall and Devon as well, good to see such unique places achieving global recognition.
